What to do after 12th? Get SET go?

 

In modern days mainstream careers like engineering and medical are not the only career opportunities available to undergraduate students. But there are plenty of career opportunities available in almost any stream of study like Science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology), Arts, Management, Law, Architecture which offer bright career and job opportunities. However, irrespective of the stream(s) students always need to clear entrance examinations which are at college or university level like Symbiosis admission, NID or The National Institute of Design conducts Design Aptitude Test, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), LSAT or Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or TISS Bachelor Admission Test ( national level) Entrance Exam for admission in BA etcetera.

 

Entrance Exams for Engineering

 

Different colleges conduct various types of entrance examinations like JEE, BITSAT, SRMJEEE, COMEDK, VITEEE, Symbiosis engineering entrance test (SET) etcetera. In fact in the country for engineering stream, there are more than fifty different types of engineering entrance exams conducted at the national, state level as well as specific college and university level. Hence students can opt to appear in more than one examination to maximise their selection chances in the days of cut-throat competition.

 

Commerce UGs Entrance Exams 

 

The commerce students need to clear exams like SAT, CLAT, ACLAT, CUSAT, NCHMCT etcetera. For a career in other professions like CA, CWA, CS etc there are tests like Common Proficiency Test (CPT) for Chartered Accountancy, ICWAI entrance examination for cost account or the test for Company Secretary.

 

Arts UGs Entrance Exams 

 

Students from Arts stream have like NCHMCT JEE, NIFT, SAT, CLAT and more as entrance examinations.

 

Marine/Defence examinations

 

There is an NDA or all India level entrance exam for joining the defence sector and after qualifying the selected students to join Navy, Air Force or Army. Whereas the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test is for the aspirants desiring to get a Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS).

 Indian Navy also offers Btech Course, tests for Indian Navy Sailors Recruitment, Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES) etcetera.

  

Biology Students entrance examinations

 

Examinations like NEET, AIPMT, AIIMS MBBS are for the students who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

As we have seen there are various entrance examination tests at various levels like national, state or institution level catering to various streams of studies like science, arts, commerce, law, architecture and others. Various prestigious private colleges conduct many different tests. For example, Symbiosis conducts various Symbiosis Entrance Tests or SET (like SET-A, SET-B) which are undergraduate entrance tests for undergraduate degree programs in Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad. The SET examination for 2021 is to be held in May and SET application form for 2021 is released already.
