Tips for online entrance exams

In today's times, most UG entrance exams in India have shifted to an online platform. Due to the advancements in technology, the colleges have used this to their benefit and started taking exams online. Instant marks and results, multiple exam slots and a variety of questions, including complex graphs and graphics are some of the benefits due to which colleges prefer online entrances rather than the conventional paper-pencil exams. Most students have been giving exams on paper all their life and hence might find it a little confusing at first to give these online exams. Here are a few tips to help you get through online entrances:

1. Practice online: Whenever you study, ensure that you also prepare online for a while. This will make you accustomed to reading online and will not cause difficulty on the day of the actual exam. Also, practising questions online will give you a feel of the exam while ensuring that your body gets used to sitting in front of the computer for several hours at a stretch. The questions asked in online exams are also different from those asked in written exams. So make sure to practice all types of questions beforehand so that you aren't caught by surprise in the exam.

2. Read all Instructions:  Before you begin writing your online exam, you will get a set of instructions on your computer screen. Read those instructions thoroughly and if you have any doubt clarify them with the invigilator before the exam begins. Going through the guidelines will help you get through the exam without any difficulties. Online exams can have vastly different instructions and answering methods, so ensure you read them before itself to avoid any time waste later.

3.Time Management: In online exams, the time given is usually very limited due to the paper pattern, which is generally MCQ. Make sure to prioritize and not waste any time in the exam. Decide the order in which you want to attempt the multiple sections before and then start solving. This will help you structure your exam as well as ensure you do not waste any time. This Undergraduate Entrance Exam is essential for your career and hence do not make any hasty mistakes.

Since admissions to most Undergraduate Courses in India are now done through online exams, you need to be accustomed to them and be comfortable while writing the exam so that you can perform well. Since these exams can make or break your careers, it is imperative to make sure that you give it your best shot. All the best for your exams!
