Application Guide: SEED 2018 - (SET Design)

The registrations for SEED are now open. The first step of the admission process for most undergraduate courses is the Symbiosis entrance test, followed by personal interviews/discussions/studio tests/counselling sessions, depending on the program of study. Until last year, the SET umbrella comprised of SET-Law, SET-Design, SET-Engineering, SET-General. However, this year onwards the names of the exams have been changed to SLAT (Law), SEED (Design), SIT EEE (Engineering), SET-General (all other courses). So, this year aspiring design students must apply for SEED. This is a guide to help you with the symbiosis undergraduate admission for SEED 2018.

Programs offered
The university offers four year degree programs in Bachelors of Design with the following eight specialisations: Graphic Design (GD); Video Film Design (VFD); Animation Film Design (AFD); User Experience Design (UED); Product Design (PD); Interior Space Design (ISD); Fashion Design (FD); Fashion Communication (FC).

Graphic Design, Video Film Design, Animation Film Design, User Experience Design are classified as Communication Design and Product Design and Interior Space Design as Industry design.

Entrance exam
The exam will be held on May 5, 2018. It will be conducted in two sessions: morning and afternoon. The SEED paper will be conducted in the morning session.
Candidates may appear for more than one paper. However, candidates who wish to do so must register for one paper from the morning session (SLAT/SEED) and/or one paper from the afternoon session (SET/SITEEE). Candidates are advised to make this decision at the time of their online registration.
So candidates applying for the SEED exam can opt for either SET-General or SITEEE.

Registration
The online registration is the first step of the process. Students must then apply for the individual institute separately.
The registrations for SEED are open from January 29, 2018 to April 14, 2018.
Applicants must apply for Symbiosis institute of Design separately by May 11, 2018.
SEED results will be declared on the May 14, 2018 and the list of candidates who have been selected for the studio test will be released on the May 18, 2018.
Studio test and personal interaction will be held at SID from May 28, 2018 to June 1, 2018.

SLAT- SET Law Application Guide 2018

The registrations for undergraduate programs in Symbiosis are now open. The first step to the admission process is the entrance exam. Until last year, the SET entrance exam was one common entity. From this year onwards, it has been divided into the following -
1. SLAT (SET Law)
2. SIT EEE (SET Engineering)
3. SEED (SET Design)
4. SET General

About SLAT
SLAT, or Symbiosis Law Admission Test, is the gateway to apply to all the undergraduate law institutes under Symbiosis International (Deemed) University.
Programs offered
All the three campuses of SLS offer two undergraduate law programs: B.A. L.L.B. and B.B.A. L.L.B. Both are five year, integrated programs and commence on the 2nd of July 2018.

For SLS Noida, the registration closes on May 13, 2018. List of shortlisted candidates for PI-WAT will be released on May 15, 2018. PI-WAT for SLS Noida will be held at Noida (20th - 24th May 2018) and Pune (23rd May - May 24th 2018) campuses.
For SLS Hyderabad, the registration closes on May 13, 2018. List of shortlisted candidates for PI-WAT will be released on May 15, 2018. PI-WAT for SLS Hyderabad will be held at the Pune campus on 19th & 20th May 2018, at the Noida campus on 26th & 27th May 2018 and at the Hyderabad campus on the 23rd & 24th May 2018.

Application guide for SIT EEE

Until last year, the SET umbrella comprised of SET – Law, SET – Design, SET – General and SET – Engineering. But this year, for Symbiosis Pune Registration 2018, engineering applicants must register for SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SIT EEE) to be eligible for the admission process at SIT, Pune. SET Engineering from now on, is known as SIT EEE.
Programs offered
SIT EEE is the entrance examination for all the engineering undergraduate courses at Symbiosis Institute of Technology. These include B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.
If a candidate applies to seek admission on the basis of test other than SITEEE like IIT JEE or MH-CET, he/she need not appear for the entrance test; rather he/she may apply directly to SIT.
Registration
The online registration is the first step of the process. Students must then apply for the individual institute separately. The registrations for SIT EEE are open from January 29, 2018 to April 14, 2018. For SIT, the registrations close on May 20, 2018. We urge candidates to fill out the SET 2018 application form before April 14.

Symbiosis Entrance Test Application Guideline

The aptitude test for Symbiosis, that is, SITEEE (Engineering), SLAT (Law), SEED (Design) and SET (General) will be held on the 5th of May, 2018. Candidates must register for their respective SET exam on or before the 14th of April, 2018. This includes applications for all the undergraduate admissions in Pune (Symbiosis) and all other Symbiosis institutes around the country. This article provides a brief overview of the test structure of each of the exams and the individual application procedure for each of the 12 institutes accepting these test scores.
The test structures of the exams are as follows:
The SLAT paper consists of Logical Reasoning (30); Legal Reasoning (30); Analytical Reasoning (30); Reading Comprehension (30); General Knowledge (30); to account for a total of 150 marks.
The SEED paper tests applicants’ design aptitude and comprises of 150 questions which account for total marks of 150.
The SET General papers which accounts for a total of 150 marks comprises of: General English (40); Quantitative (40); General Awareness (40); Analytical & Logical Reasoning (30).
The SITEEE paper which accounts for a total of 200 marks is divided as follows: Physics (50); Chemistry (50); Mathematics (100).
The application procedures for each institute are as follows:
SLAT Admission Procedure:
On applying for SLAT, candidates must also apply to the individual institutes. After the SLAT exam at their respective test cities, chosen candidates must attend their respective campuses for a PI-WAT after which a merit list will be drawn for each campus which will be based on candidates’ SLAT scores (50% weightage) and PI-WAT scores (50% weightage). Following are the important dates for each of the SLS institutes:
SLS Pune:
  1. The registrations close on13 May, 2018.
  2. PI-WAT at SLS Pune Campus will be conducted on 19th, 20th, 21st 22nd May, 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be announced on 25th May, 2018
SLS Noida:
  1. The registrations close on 13 May, 2018.
  2. PI-WAT at the Noida Campus will be conducted from 20th to 24th May 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be announced on 29th May, 2018.
SLS Hyderabad:
  1. The registrations close on 13 May, 2018.
  2. PI-WAT at the Hyderabad Campus will be conducted from 25th to 26th May 2018.
  3. PI-WAT for SLS Hyderabad will also be conducted on the Pune campus (on 19th and 20th May) and the Noida campus (on 22nd and 23rd May).
  4. First merit list will be announced on 28th May, 2018.
SEED Admission Procedure:
  1. Last date for online application to Symbiosis Institute of Design is 11 May, 2018.
  2. Studio Test and Personal Interaction at Pune will be held from May 28 to June 1, 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be announced on the 4th of June, 2018.
SITEEE Admission Procedure:
  1. The registration for SIT, through JEE(Main), MHT-CET closes on the 20th of May, 2018.
  2. Counselling sessions for B.Tech First Year admission through the various entrance examinations will be held on the following dates: SITEEE(SC/ST/DA/KM candidates) on June 2, 2018; SITEEE (General candidates) on June 3, 2018; JEE and MHT-CET (SC/ST/DA/KM candidates) on June 9, 2018; JEE and MHT-CET (General candidates) on June 10, 2018; Second Counseling (if seats are vacant) on June 25, 2018.
  3. The course commences on July 02, 2018
SET General Admission Procedure:
The SET Application form 2018 has been made available on the SET website from the 29th of January, 2018. The important dates for each institute are as follows:
  • Symbiosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research [SICSR]
  1. The last date of applying online for SICSR is 11th May, 2018.
  2. GE-PIWAT will be conducted in Pune on May 26 & 27, 2018 ; in Delhi on May 30 & 31, 2018; in Indore & Kolkata on June 3, 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be displayed on 9th June 2018.
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS] - Pune
  1. The last date of applying to SCMS by DD is 11th May, 2018 and online is 14th May, 2018.
  2. Group exercise, Personal Interaction & WAT will be held in Pune from 23 May to 25 May, 2018 and from 26 May to 29 May, 2018 in Noida.
  3. The merit list will be announced on 5th June, 2018.
  • Symbiosis Center for Media & Communication [SCMC]
  1. The last date for payment of the application fee for SCMS is 4th May, 2018.
  2. The second round will consist of PI, WAT, ST and DV and will be conducted in Pune from the 25th to 29th of May, 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be out on the 4th of June, 2018.
  • Symbiosis School of Economics [SSE]
  1. The last date of online registration and payment for Institute is May 11, 2018.
  2. PI-WAT will be held at Noida on May 24 - 25, 2018 and Pune on May 28 - 29, 2018.
  3. First merit list will be announced on the 5th of June, 2018.
  • Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies [SCMS]-Noida
  1. Last date for payment for Institute is May 12, 2018.
  2. Group Exercise, Personal Interaction & WAT will be held from 19 May 2018 to 25 May 2018.
  3. The first merit list will be announced on the 28th of May, 2018.
  • Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts [SSLA]
  1. The registration closes on 16 April, 2018.
  2. PI-WAT will be held from 25 May to 29 May 2018.

  • Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts [SSCA]
  1. The last date of online registration and payment for Institute is May 12, 2018.
  2. Group Exercise, Personal Interaction & WAT will be held in Delhi on May 26th, 2018; in Pune on June 2nd, and June 3rd, 2018; in Kolkata on May 27th, 2018.

Symbiosis Entrance Test registrations now open, here’s all you need to know!

The registrations are now open for entrance tests for admissions in to any of the undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International (deemed) University. Candidates who wish to pursue any of the Symbiosis undergraduate programs must now register for the tests according to their respective courses of choice. Read along to know more about the institutes under SIU, programs available, entrance tests for respective courses, and test cities.

Programs:
Institutes in the SIU umbrella provide undergraduate degree programs in B.A LL.B., B.B.A LL.B, B.Design, BCA, BBA IT, B.A. Mass Communication, B.Sc Economics Hons., B.A. Liberal Arts, B.Sc Liberal Arts, B.Sc Culinary Arts, B.Tech.
Admissions to Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), Symbiosis School of Nursing (SCON) and for Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP) are not compulsorily through the Symbiosis Entrance Exam; candidates who wish to apply to these institutes must visit their respective websites for further details.
Exams and important dates:
Registrations for all the tests and courses open on the 29th of January, 2018 and close on 14th of April, 2018. All of the entrance exams will be held online in the test centres on 5th May, 2018. Results will be announced on 14th May, 2018.
LAW: The entrance exam for law courses is SLAT (previously known as SET-Law) and will be conducted from 9:30 to 12:00.
DESIGN: The entrance test for design courses is SEED (previously known as SET-Design) and will be conducted from 9.30 to 12:00.
ENGINEERING: SITEEE (previously known as SET Engineering) is the entrance exam for applicants seeking admission in any of the B. Tech programs offered at any of the institutes and will be conducted from 14:30 to 17:00.
OTHER COURSES: SET exam 2018 is a general exam for aspirants seeking admission in either of the following courses: BCA, BBA, BA Mass Communication, B.Sc. Economics, BA Liberal Arts, B.Sc. Liberal Arts, B.Sc. Culinary Arts. The exam will be conducted from 14:30 to 17:00.
Note: The tests will only be held once. Candidates, who wish to appear for more than one exam cannot choose to appear for exams held at the same time, and so they must choose both exams at separate timings. (Candidates appearing for SET-general cannot appear for SITEEE and vice versa. Similarly, candidates appearing for SEED cannot appear for SLAT and vice versa.)
