The
registrations for SEED are now open. The first step of the admission
process for most undergraduate courses is the Symbiosis entrance
test, followed by personal interviews/discussions/studio
tests/counselling sessions, depending on the program of study. Until
last year, the SET umbrella comprised of SET-Law, SET-Design,
SET-Engineering, SET-General. However, this year onwards the names of
the exams have been changed to SLAT (Law), SEED (Design), SIT EEE
(Engineering), SET-General (all other courses). So, this year
aspiring design students must apply for SEED. This is a guide to help
you with the symbiosis
undergraduate admission for
SEED 2018.
Programs
offered
The
university offers four year degree programs in Bachelors of Design
with the following eight specialisations: Graphic Design (GD); Video
Film Design (VFD); Animation Film Design (AFD); User Experience
Design (UED); Product Design (PD); Interior Space Design (ISD);
Fashion Design (FD); Fashion Communication (FC).
Graphic
Design, Video Film Design, Animation Film Design, User Experience
Design are classified as Communication Design and Product Design and
Interior Space Design as Industry design.
Entrance
exam
The exam
will be held on May 5, 2018. It will be conducted in two sessions:
morning and afternoon. The SEED paper will be conducted in the
morning session.
Candidates
may appear for more than one paper. However, candidates who wish to
do so must register for one paper from the morning session
(SLAT/SEED) and/or one paper from the afternoon session (SET/SITEEE).
Candidates are advised to make this decision at the time of their
online registration.
So
candidates applying for the SEED exam can opt for either SET-General
or SITEEE.

The online
registration is the first step of the process. Students must then
apply for the individual institute separately.
The
registrations for SEED are open from January 29, 2018 to April 14,
2018.
Applicants
must apply for Symbiosis institute of Design separately by May 11,
2018.

candidates who have been selected for the studio test will be
released on the May 18, 2018.
Studio
test and personal interaction will be held at SID from May 28, 2018
to June 1, 2018.
