The exam assesses a student's knowledge and skills in multiple subjects, including English, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness, and Analytical Reasoning. This blog will discuss the exam in detail and provide tips for students to prepare for the various subjects covered to succeed and getting into Symbiosis undergraduate courses.

Exam Pattern

SET is a computer-based test that consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is 150 minutes, and the total marks are 150. There is no negative marking for wrong answers, and the exam is conducted in two sessions: morning and afternoon.

The exam consists of four sections, namely:

1. General English: This section evaluates a student's proficiency in the English language and grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and verbal ability.

2. Quantitative Ability: This section assesses a student's mathematical skills and ability to solve problems in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

3. General Awareness: This section tests a student's knowledge and understanding of current affairs, static GK, and general knowledge of politics, economics, science, technology, sports, and culture.

4. Analytical Reasoning: This section evaluates a student's logical and reasoning ability and comprises topics such as coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms, puzzles, and data interpretation.

Preparation Tips

1. Understand the Syllabus and Exam Pattern: The first step towards preparing for SET is thoroughly understanding the syllabus and pattern. This helps identify each section's essential topics and weightage, aiding in strategizing the preparation plan.

2. Create a Study Plan: Designing a study plan that covers all the exam sections and allocates adequate time for each subject is essential for effective preparation. The study plan should also include regular revision and practice tests to track progress.

3. Refer to Quality Study Material: Selecting good study material is crucial for scoring well in SET. Referring to standard textbooks, solved papers, and online resources can help understand the concepts and practice the questions.

4. Practice Regularly: Regular exercise is essential for building accuracy and speed in solving problems. Solving previous years' papers, taking mock tests, and practising online quizzes can help gain confidence and improve performance in the exam.

5. Focus On Weak Areas: Identifying and working on weak areas is crucial for improving overall performance in the exam. Students can identify where they lag by analyzing the mock tests and practice papers and focusing on improving those areas.

SET is a highly competitive exam that requires focused and dedicated preparation to score well. By understanding the exam pattern and syllabus, creating a study plan, referring to quality study material, practising regularly, staying updated with current affairs, and focusing on weak areas, students can increase their chances of success in the exam.

Maintaining a positive attitude, staying calm and composed, and managing time effectively during the exam is also essential. With consistent effort and perseverance, students can crack SET and secure admission to their preferred course and institution in the Symbiosis family.
